Less mainstream factsThe smallest mustelid is the least weasel subspecies (Mustela nivalis rixosa), measuring 8-23 centimetres / 7–9 inches, while the largest mustelid (depending on which metric one prefers) is either the giant otter (being the longest at around 1.7 metres / 5.6 feet) or the sea otter (being the heaviest at around 45 kilograms / 99.21 pounds).
